What is PE?

Win PE, Windows PE are Windows Pre-installation Environment for short. This environment has many things to do. However, original WinPE is hard to operate. No visible window and you have to use command line to enter and set. In order to make up these shortcomings, software company - AOMEI Technology developed a tool called AOMEI PE Builder, which can create a environment based on Win PE. What’s more, it has other functions and is more powerful than traditional Windows PE.

How to use AOMEI PE Builder?

Download from AOMEI official site, install and run. The installation does not need AIK/WAIK. AOMEI PE Builder breaks this limit of traditional Win PE. In the first and second interface, it’s about the introduction and detection. You just need to click Next buttons two times to go to the third step.

Here, it allows you to add some built-in utilities in your customized Win PE as well as drivers. If you think these are not enough and can’t satisfy your needs, you can add more portable tools as you wish into the environment. By the way, two famous AOMEI products are integrated in AOMEI PE Builder by default: free partition software - AOMEI Partition Assistant and free backup software - AOMEI Backupper.

The forth step. AOMEI PE Builder supports creating three kinds of bootable medias. They are CD/DVD, flash drive and ISO file. Click Next in this step will start to build.

Enter Windows PE system likes following picture shows. It has desktop, Windows explorer, start menu and task bar. You see, it is a familiar environment like Windows 7 desktop.
