How to install MonsterInsights in your Wordpress Site?:
After purchasing monsterinsights pro plugin login to monsterinsights pro account.

Goto download tab and download monsterinsights pro plugin in zip format.

Set Custom Dimesnions in Google Analytics
First Go to Google Analytics Choose your website which you need author tracking.






Next Click Custom Definitions and choose Custom Definitions.





Next click new Custom Dimension.
In the Add Custom Dimension Page, Fill the name field .You can give any name.But for easy understanding purpose i am giving the name Author. Let the scope and Enabled Active check box as it is. Click Create button.



Next sample javascript analytics code will be displayed.Click Done button.
Note the index value "1" of Author Dimension.  


 Here in the 1st Step we are seeing for MonsterInsights Plugin. so now goto your Wordpress Dashboard.
Click Addons and install Dimensions.

Now goto Settings and click Conversions .
In the conversions tab , scroll down and click Add New Custom Dimension .


In the Type Dropdown Menu Choose Author.

We already noted that the Created Author Index Value is "1" from Google Analytics.So we must enter the Author ID as "1" MonsterInsights Pro Plugin.

Save the Changes. That's all friends.Now goto Reports tab of MonsterInsights Pro Plugin and Click Dimensions to view Reports of Author.Kindly note that Sometimes it take atleast 24 hours for report Generation depending upon the site . Another important point ,to avoid spam, by default while viewing your wordpress site with administrator login those things visits will not be taken into account for report generation . If you want to do some small sample checks be sure you have logged out the administrator wordpress dashboard account (or) load website in another browser. Go to Google Analytics and choose your site which you want to track author .Goto Customization ,Click Custom Reports .Next click New Custom Report.

In Create Custom Report Page , Type will be Explorer , leave as it is. Next in Metric Group, Click add Metric . In search field type "Page Views" . Now Page Views will be displayed. Click it.
Now goto Dimension Drilldown.Click Add Dimension.Find Custom Dimension and choose Author. Finally Save it.


Now, It should look like below.
Just wait for atleast 24 hours for report geeration , if it is not yet displayed anything.
Now click Custom report.


You will get a look like below.
